Shi Hong named as Yu Miao , or San Shui , studio name “Tian Ma Zhai ”, born in Beijing , Wendeng , Shandong Province is his ancestral home.
Shi Hong was born in Yu Xinzhuang by Chaobai river in 1934 , his family moved to Qian Dongyi and live with their relatives in 1939 , there the ancient paintings aroused the spirit in his infancy , among them Wu Daozi ‘s “ Zhang Tiangong shoots Heavenly Dog” , and Lang Shining’s “ Eight Stanging Horses” still remained fresh in his memory so far .
Studied at Lu Xianguan Temple “the demolished ancient building in east of Beijing ”in his juvenile days, achieved the profound calligraphy groundwork , meanwhile, the beautiful mural “ Three Kingdoms ”at Lu Xianguan Temple , the lifelike sculptures in the Guan Di Hall and the Niang Niang Hall , which inspired and impressed him deeply , enlightened his ideal to the art .
He Studied calligraphy under the guidance of Liu Guanting during the days at Xiyin High School “currently Beijing No. 43 High School ”, and won the first place on calligraphy in Xuanwu District .
1950 – 1951 , he visited the renowned master Xu Beihong respectably at Rong Baozhai , Guan Fuzhai , Gu Baozhai on antique street many times , directed and instructed by the master , that was the real fortune in his life , also strengthened his confidence to engage in art .
1954 – 1957 , he entered Beijing Normal School , started to study the techniques of sketch , colors in Western and Chinese painting under the guidance of Mr . Sun Xin , achieved the profound groundwork .
1959 – 1962 , advanced studied in the Fine Art Department of Beijing Normal University , began to study Chinese painting under the guidance of Pu Songchuang , Wang Xuetao and other masters .
In his Chinese painting creations , specialized in calligraphy , hawks , cocks , horses , mountain scenery , particular in galloping horses . His works accomplished in skillful fusing the aesthetics in forms and nature through ink techniques , refined techniques of writing and ink , created the new techniques in practice , starting with calligraphy and moving as the basic , foiled by blending ink and colors , diversified techniques but on unified discipline , profound power in using ink , unrestrained and bold , fusing of ink and colors , boundless vigor . inherited tradition , acquired from others , developing tradition , innovative , run-through the techniques of calligraphy and Xie Yi “ Vigorous Outline in the impression manner ” , the works rooted in Chinese tradition and meticulous , as well as endued with current tinge and responsibility . the works emphasized on spirit and may bring the resonance with the era .
He honorably contributed works and earnings to the Hope Project , the Handicapped Association , Saving on Calamity , Asian Sports Games , Olympic Games , the West Great Exploitation and so on , acquired the certification and medals .
Mr. Shi Hong currently is the professor of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Research Center , the director of International Artists League , the consultant of Chinese Poem , Painting and Calligraphy Research , the Director of Chinese Three-gorges Painting and Calligraphy Institute , the director of Chinese Cross-straits Artists Sodality , the consultant of Chinese Art Exhibition Net , the consultant of Hong Kong Artists League , a member of Chinese Personage Fishing Club , a member of Chinese Artists association .
